Trendy Transition
During the 1910's, women began wearing corsets less and less. In fact, corsets would soon just be thrown out completely! Women began wearing clothing that would fit to their body, as opposed to clothing that forced the body to conform to it. One of the major changes for women's clothing was due to the invention of the brassiere, by Mary Phelps Jacob in 1914. Women also usually wore hats or turbans that they could put their hair underneath.
The men's fashion basically stayed the same as it was in the 1900's. Men wore black suits, and, on casual days, they wore trousers with suspenders. Another popular look for them was wearing arrow collars.
The boys of the 1910's simply wore suits with short trousers, and the girls wore short skirts. The suits the boys usually wore had a sailor look, which was due to World War I.
